As one of London’s leading consultant respiratory physicians, Dr Patel specialises in the investigation and management of a wide range of respiratory diseases, including acute and chronic cough, asthma, sleep apnoea, sarcoidosis, pulmonary fibrosis and interstitial lung diseases, breathlessness of unknown cause, and COPD.
Alongside his private clinics at Nuffield Health at St Bartholomew’s Hospital and other clinics across London, Dr Patel also runs his NHS clinics at King’s College Hospital, Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital. Dr Patel is the clinical lead for respiratory medicine at King’s College Hospital and is the training programme director for respiratory medicine in the South Thames region. He is also the regional specialty advisor to the Royal College of Physicians.
During Dr Patel's higher specialist training, he obtained an MD in the Division of Asthma, Allergy, and Lung Biology within King’s College London.
Dr Patel lectures undergraduate and postgraduate students and teaches all aspects of respiratory medicine. He continues to be involved in a number of research projects, and his work has been published in several highly renowned international journals and presented at major symposia in North America, Europe, and the UK.
