Dr Abbas Al-Shammari

Dr Al-Shammari is a Consultant Dermatologist and the Lead for Skin Cancer and Dermatology Audit Projects at West Suffolk Hospital in Bury St Edmunds. He completed his specialist training in dermatology in 2000 and has been practising as a consultant since that time.

He has trained and worked in several countries, gaining broad experience in the management of inflammatory skin conditions (such as eczema, psoriasis, skin infections and others), as well as neoplastic skin diseases (skin tumours and cancers). He also has extensive expertise in dermatologic surgery.

Dr. Al-Shammari has published research in leading journals, including the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Journal of Dermatopathology, as well as local publications.

Alongside his clinical and research work, he is actively involved in teaching. He delivers clinical training and educational sessions to Cambridge University medical students, internal medicine trainees, junior doctors, and nurses.

Dr. Al-Shammari is a member of the British Association of Dermatologists and a former Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, reflecting his longstanding engagement in international dermatology networks.
