Health MOT - Discover how healthy you really are
Take our FREE health MOT and get a clear view of your health.
Whatever you fitness levels, whether you can run miles or you have just started out, we can help you become healthier.
All our members are entitled to a FREE health MOT (previously called Vi1 health assessment) when they join as part of their Nuffield Health membership.
What the health MOT measures and why it’s important:
• Body Composition – Having a healthy body composition will help you to keep active, maintain high energy levels and reduce your risk of diseases such as heart disease and cancer.
• Blood Pressure –As blood pressure rises, so does your risk of vascular diseases such as angina. If you have high blood pressure, lowering blood pressure has been shown to reduce the risk of vascular disease by 50%.
• Blood Glucose – Controlling your levels of blood glucose at a healthy level will lead to higher energy levels and a reduced risk of diseases such as diabetes and heart disease.
• Cholesterol – Keeping your cholesterol at a health level will limit the chance of fatty deposits building up in the artery walls which could lead to heart attacks or stroke.
• Aerobic Fitness and Activity levels – Increasing fitness and activity levels will lead to higher energy levels and reduce your risk of heart disease and certain cancers.
• Musculoskeletal history – It’s important to spot muscular issues early before they increase the chance of injury while exercising.
• Energy levels – Fatigue is one of the most common health problems facing adults today. In fact, 20% of people worldwide reported persistent fatigue.
• Sleep quality – Not having a good night’s sleep can affect blood glucose levels, body composition, mood, concentration, performance and energy levels.
What happens next?
After your health MOT, we’ll give you a report that will enable you to identify any potential risks you may have for preventable illnesses such as heart disease, strokes and diabetes. It will also help us create a personalised action plan to address any issues highlighted or simply for your individual needs.
Plus, regular check-ins will chart your progress and improvements over time. This will help you to keep motivated, encouraging you to reach your goals and get healthier.
