Enhanced Care Unit at Parkside Hospital
In order to deliver high standards of patient care, Parkside Hospital operates a specialist four-bed Enhanced Care Unit (ECU) that provides level-two care on a planned, elective basis following surgery or for those patients whose clinical condition deteriorates unexpectedly.
The ECU can provide:
- Emergency ventilation
- Immediate blood gas analysis
- Cardiac monitoring
- Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) ventilation
- Bi-level Positive Airway Pressure (BIPAP) ventilation.
