About
Professor David Russell-Jones is an internationally recognised Consultant Endocrinologist and Professor of Diabetes and Endocrinology, with extensive expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of diabetes, pituitary disorders and a wide range of endocrine conditions. He was appointed Professor of Diabetes and Endocrinology at the University of Surrey and Consultant Physician at Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust in 1998, having previously held a Senior Lecturer and Consultant Physician position at Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital, London.
Professor Russell-Jones provides comprehensive endocrine care through specialist diabetes and endocrine clinics, including a large pituitary clinic. He has extensive experience in the assessment, diagnosis and long term management of complex endocrine disorders, delivering personalised treatment plans tailored to each patient's individual needs.
Alongside his clinical practice, Professor Russell-Jones is actively involved in research and has served as Principal Investigator on numerous national and international clinical trials that have influenced diabetes and endocrine treatment. He is a regular speaker at major diabetes and endocrinology conferences worldwide and has contributed significantly to advances in patient care and clinical practice.
Professor Russell-Jones has also held advisory roles
with NHS England, serving on the Clinical Reference Groups for specialist
endocrinology and specialist diabetes. He is the diabetes and endocrine adviser
to the Civil Aviation Authority and leads its innovative programme supporting
individuals treated with insulin to meet the medical requirements for piloting
aircraft.
