Professor Christopher Hawkes is a Consultant Neurologist at Nuffield Health Brentwood Hospital and specialises in all neurological disorders including Parkinson’s disease, tremor, headache, dizziness, numbness and tingling, multiple sclerosis epilepsy, smell and taste problems, muscle and nerve disorder, blackouts, memory problems and stroke. Mr Hawkes particularly welcomes referrals for a second opinion.
Professor Hawkes graduated in Medicine at Edinburgh University in 1964, and he has been a Consultant Neurologist since 1976. He was a Consultant Neurologist at Queens Hospital Romford and since 2008 at Barts Health NHS Trust.
Professor Hawkes was an Honorary Consultant for 25 years at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen Square.

Professor Hawkes published over 150 scientific articles and has written two books on disorders of smell and taste. He is the founder and joint Chief Editor of an international journal 'Multiple Sclerosis and related Disorders' published by Elsevier Press in October 2011. He has written multiple papers on Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's Disease and Olfaction.
