About
Dr Saidkasimova is a consultant Ophthalmologist and vitreoretinal surgeon and the Clinical lead for Retinal service at Gartnavel General Hospital.
She completed her training in ophthalmology in the West of Scotland and was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (London) in 2008. She undertook a Vitreoretinal fellowship at the Tennent Institute of Ophthalmology in Glasgow and a further Advanced Vitreoretinal Fellowship at the renowned St Thomas' Hospital in London in 2009.
Since then, she has gained expertise as a consultant ophthalmologist achieving excellent outcomes for patients using the latest surgical techniques. Dr Saidkasimova tailors the surgical treatment options to the patient’s lifestyle needs.
Dr Saidkasimova is actively involved in the research and training of the new generation of ophthalmologists and is the Training lead for the British and Eire Vitreoretinal Society, as well as an examiner for the Royal College of Ophthalmologists.
