Ms Seena Nambiar

Ms Nambiar is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon with over 20 years of experience spanning the full breadth of general ophthalmology. After being awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (FRCOphth) in London, she completed advanced glaucoma fellowship training at Queen’s Medical Centre, Nottingham.

She has held substantive Consultant Ophthalmologist post at the University Hospitals of Derby and Burton and currently works as a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon and glaucoma specialist at the Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust.

Ms Nambiar’s clinical practice encompasses the full spectrum of general ophthalmology, with particular expertise in the diagnosis and management of glaucoma and cataract. She is highly experienced in both routine and complex small incision cataract surgery, including cases involving coexisting glaucoma. Her surgical portfolio includes glaucoma laser procedures, trabeculectomy, aqueous shunt implantation, and a wide range of minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS) techniques such as Preserflo, MicroShunt, iStent, viscocanaloplasty, and trabeculotomy.

Known for her calm, clear, and patient-centred approach, Ms Nambiar takes time to understand each patient’s individual concerns and provides personalised, evidence-based treatment plans. Her commitment to high-quality care extends to teaching and training; she has previously served as a Royal College Tutor and continues to support undergraduate teaching.
