Rachel Vallis trained at King’s College and London and qualified as a Registered Dietitian in 2005.
She has been working as a Paediatric Dietitian at The Royal Surrey County Hospital since 2016. Prior to working at RSCH, Rachel has specialist roles in the fields of Weight Management, Diabetes, Nutrition Support and Stroke.
Rachel’s work as a Dietitian involves translating the scientific evidence for therapeutic diets in to practical and manageable changes to improve the health of her patients. She works with individuals and families with a supportive, non-judgemental approach tailored to the individual needs of the patient.
Within her Paediatric work, Rachel has a special interest in working with children who have highly restricted diets due to fussy eating, Autism and ARFID, providing parents and children with strategies to improve nutritional status and increased dietary variety. A large part of her work is in Allergy where she is able to support children on exclusion diets and promote active allergy management.
A supervisor of undergraduate Dietetic students and lecturer at the University of Surrey, Rachel continues to develop her professional knowledge and skills in a variety of fields to promote the most up-to-date dietary advice.
