About
Miss Julie Kohls is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon who specialises in Foot and Ankle Surgery who has worked at the Royal Surrey County Hospital since July 2007. Julie sees all manner of Foot and Ankle problems from the minor to the very complex. Many Foot & Ankle conditions need a specialist assessment to guide the physiotherapy and other treatments such as orthotic treatment but will not require surgery. However when surgery is required Julie uses the latest recognized surgical techniques to treat patients including keyhole surgery. Julie has carried out over 6000 Foot and Ankle procedures.
Julie has set up a new Foot &Ankle Practice, JKG Foot&Ankle Surgery which is committed to delivering excellent care by working together with patients, orthotists and physiotherapists.
Julie is Canadian and she qualified in medicine at the University of Western Ontario in 1996 followed by Orthopaedic surgery training program at the University of Toronto. After arriving in London in 1999, Julie completed her training in Orthopaedic surgery on the London North West training program. In 2007 Julie became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (FRCS (Tr & Orth). Julie completed two years of Fellowship Training in Foot and Ankle Surgery.

Miss Julie Kohls specialises in Arthritic Conditions, Keyhole surgery, Forefoot problems and Deformity Correction.
Julie is also committed to the care of diabetic patients with Foot and Ankle problems and co-runs with the Endocrinologists the specialised MDT (multi-disciplinary team) clinics for diabetic patients with foot problems at the RSCH.
Julie has a Masters Degree in Surgical Education (M. Ed) from the University of Toronto, Canada. Currently she is the Foundation Year 1 Program Director for the 42 most junior doctors at the Royal Surrey County Hospital.
Personal interests
Julie enjoys Pilates, gardening and cooking and dog walking.
