About
Mr Zuhair Nawaz is an experienced Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon based in Surrey. He specialises in all aspects of hip and knee surgery, including primary and revision joint replacement, complex reconstruction, sports‑related knee injuries, ligament reconstruction, patellofemoral conditions, corrective osteotomy surgery, and lower limb trauma.
After studying at St Paul’s School, Barnes, Mr Nawaz completed his medical degree at Imperial College London in 2003, graduating with an intercalated Bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience. He went on to undertake his orthopaedic training on the prestigious London rotation, complemented by a year of experience in plastic surgery.
He later completed fellowship training at the world‑renowned Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore, gaining comprehensive expertise in joint reconstruction. Additional fellowship‑level training in major trauma and complex limb reconstruction followed at specialist centres including St Peter’s/Rowley Bristow Unit and the Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary, Canada.
Alongside his clinical practice, Mr Nawaz is active in research and education and has published widely in the fields of hip, knee, and trauma surgery. He lectures nationally and internationally, presenting regularly at major American and European orthopaedic congresses.
A committed educator, Mr Nawaz serves as a mentor, trainer, and faculty member on several national and international courses, helping to train current and future consultants in all aspects of hip and knee surgery.
