About
Mr Vivek Dhukaram is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with subspecialist interest in foot and ankle surgery based at University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire NHS trust (UHCW) and private practice at Nuffield Health Warwickshire Hospital. He has extensive experience in all aspects of foot and ankle pathology with special interest in sports injuries, deformity correction and minimally invasive surgery.
Mr Dhukaram was trained and accredited as an Orthopaedic surgeon from South Trent training scheme. He undertook advanced fellowship training from Nottingham and RNOH Stanmore and also awarded British Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society and European Foot and Ankle Society travelling fellowships. He has set up the specialist foot and ankle service at University hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire and continues to develop it. His surgical practice includes modern hallux valgus (bunion) surgery, lesser toe surgery, arthroscopic procedures of ankle, subtalar, big toe joints including arthroscopic guided joint fusions, ankle replacement, ligament reconstruction, midfoot and hindfoot deformity correction, rheumatoid foot surgery, diabetic foot surgery, tendon transfers, tendon reconstruction, foot and ankle fracture fixation and revision surgery for previous unsuccessful procedures. Mr. Dhukaram employs techniques to minimise postoperative pain and his patients report higher satisfaction.
He has published in peer reviewed journals and presented at international and national meetings on various topics of foot and ankle surgery. He is a keen teacher regularly lectures and trains surgical trainees, physiotherapists, general practitioners and medical students
