About
Mr Rao is a Consultant Upper Gastrointestinal and Bariatric Surgeon with extensive training in benign upper GI conditions, cancer surgery, and weight‑loss procedures. He completed his higher surgical training across major centres in Yorkshire, receiving his CCT in 2012.
He specialises in laparoscopic surgery, including hernia repair and gallbladder surgery, and has significant experience managing complex reflux disease, achalasia, and emergency gastrointestinal conditions.
In 2013, he was appointed as a Consultant at the University Hospitals of North Midlands. His practice is firmly centred on patient safety, evidence‑based care, and high‑quality surgical outcomes.
