About
Mr Tony Chalhoub is a world-leading consultant gynaecologist and internationally recognised authority in robotic-assisted and laparoscopic surgery, renowned for delivering expert, holistic, and patient-centred care across the full spectrum of gynaecological conditions.Fluent in English, Arabic, and French, he offers an inclusive and truly personalised approach for every patient.
Now based in London as an NHS Consultant at St George’s University Hospital, Mr Chalhoub is the founder and former director of the Northern Centre for Endometriosis, where he led the service to national accreditation and transformed outcomes for patients with complex disease. With over 27 years of experience and advanced training across the USA and UK, he has performed more than 1,500 robotic procedures—including over 750 robotic hysterectomies—with exceptional outcomes: a 99% same-day discharge rate, less than 1% complication rate, and zero conversions to open surgery. His pioneering work has helped establish minimally invasive hysterectomy as a safe and effective day-case procedure.
Mr Chalhoub specialises in deep infiltrating endometriosis, fibroids, chronic pelvic pain, heavy or irregular periods, fertility challenges, hereditary cancers (BRCA1/2, Lynch), PCOS, PMS/PMDD, perimenopause and menopause, and a wide range of hormonal and menstrual disorders. Patients also benefit from comprehensive one-stop diagnostics for vulval, vaginal, cervical, and womb conditions—including abnormal smears, postcoital bleeding, abnormal discharge, skin changes, postmenopausal bleeding, and painful intercourse—as well as expertise in pessary fitting, fertility investigations, sexual health, and cancer screening. His practice is proudly inclusive, offering affirming care for transgender and non-binary individuals.
Alongside his clinical excellence, Mr Chalhoub is one of the most influential surgical educators in the UK, having trained the majority of the country’s robotic gynaecological surgeons across the NHS and private sectors—from Inverness to Poole. Internationally, he has delivered advanced training programmes throughout Germany, France, Italy, Denmark, Austria, Switzerland, Dubai, Lebanon, and Iraq. As Chair of the British Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy (BSGE), he continues to lead on innovations that shape the future of minimally invasive surgery.
Widely regarded for his warmth, clarity, and collaborative approach, Mr Chalhoub excels in shared decision-making, ensuring every patient feels informed, supported, and empowered. Combining world-class surgical expertise with compassion, precision, and integrity, he welcomes both national and international patients seeking the very best in modern gynaecological care.
