I specialise in all aspects of knee surgery including acute ligament injuries. My surgical interests include ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) reconstruction, meniscal injuries, complex ligament reconstruction and joint replacement. I also have a special interest in anterior knee pain in athletes. My areas of interest include:

I am the lead for Undergraduate and Postgraduate education as well as lead for research and the AO trauma centre fellowship programme at Chelsea. I have contributed to many publications in the field of soft tissue knee surgery. I lecture regularly internationally on complex knee ligament reconstruction and played rugby to first class level. Medically I have also represented both national and international rugby. I am a regular faculty member on orthopaedic training courses. I review for peer review journals including the American Journal of Sports Medicine and am a member of the British Association for Surgery of the knee and one of only two UK surgeons to have been elected to the highly prestigious Australian Knee Society.

Personal interests

Having played elite level rugby, I understand the needs of the elite and amateur athlete. I play contact sports, have a private pilots license and shoot. Most of my spare time is dedicated to supporting my children's sporting interests.
