About

I am a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon based at Nuffield Health, The Grosvenor Hospital in Chester. I also work in the NHS at the Countess of Chester Hospital, where I have been a consultant since 2006.

I specialise in hip and knee surgery, lower limb conditions, and joint reconstruction. I help you find relief from pain, recover from injury, and improve your mobility.

With comprehensive training in all aspects of orthopaedic surgery, I have developed particular expertise in:

  • Hip replacement surgery
  • Knee replacement surgery, including partial knee replacements
  • Knee arthroscopy
  • ACL reconstruction and ligament surgery
  • Treatment of sports injuries and trauma.

My practice focuses on delivering evidence‑based, patient‑centred care, using modern surgical techniques to support faster recovery and long‑term joint health.

My extensive training and international experience

I trained at London University before completing specialist orthopaedic training in the West Midlands and Wales.
I have worked at several leading orthopaedic centres, including:
  • Wrightington Hospital, a well-known centre for joint replacement
  • The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital in Oswestry
  • Specialist units in the United States

Personal interests

I enjoy sailing, which I manage to do most weeks during the summer on West Kirby Lake, as well as a few more adventurous trips!

My other interests include skiing, cycling and playing golf to a very poor standard. Any time left is spent with my wife and two children.
