About

Mr Preetham Kodumuri is a Consultant Orthopaedic Hand and Wrist Surgeon with over 15 years of experience in orthopaedics. He works at Wrexham Maelor Hospital, where he has served as a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon since 2020.

Specialising in hand and wrist conditions such as carpal tunnel syndrome, trigger finger, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and Dupuytren’s contracture, Mr Kodumuri has performed approximately 1,000 surgical procedures, including WALANT surgery and wrist arthroscopy.

He pioneered Wales’ first ultrasound-guided, minimally invasive carpal tunnel release, offering faster recovery and minimal disruption for patients. After graduating from Guntur, India, in 2006, he completed surgical training in the East Midlands and earned his CCT in Nottingham and Derby in 2018.

He undertook advanced hand surgery fellowships in Manchester and Birmingham and achieved both British and European Hand Surgery Diplomas in 2019. His international training includes visits to renowned institutions such as the Mayo Clinic and Christine Kleinert Hand Institute.

Mr Kodumuri is passionate about sustainable healthcare, earning national recognition through the Green Surgery Challenge. He actively contributes to research, teaching, and training future surgeons as a clinical tutor and faculty member for FRCS revision courses.
