About

Mr Varghese is a Consultant General Surgeon who specialises in colorectal surgery — the diagnosis and treatment of conditions affecting the small bowel, large bowel (colon), rectum, and anus. He has extensive experience in minimally invasive surgery, including both laparoscopic (keyhole) and robotic techniques.

He treats inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and performs complex procedures such as ileoanal pouch surgery. He also manages a wide range of benign colorectal conditions, including:

  • Anal fistula
  • Anal fissure
  • Haemorrhoids — including HALO, stapled haemorrhoidectomy, and open haemorrhoidectomy
He also manages proctology (conditions of the anus and rectum), intestinal failure, and functional bowel disorders such as:
  • Rectal prolapse

  • Obstructive defecation syndrome
