About
Mr Varghese is a Consultant General Surgeon specialising in colorectal surgery and the management of conditions affecting the small bowel, large bowel, rectum and anus. He has extensive experience in minimally invasive laparoscopic and robotic surgery.
He treats inflammatory bowel disease, including ileoanal pouch procedures, and manages benign colorectal conditions such as fistula, fissure, and haemorrhoids (HALO, stapled and open haemorrhoidectomy).
His practice also includes proctology, intestinal failure, and functional bowel disorders including prolapse, incontinence, constipation, and obstructive defecation syndrome.
In addition to his colorectal work, Mr Varghese provides a full range of general surgical procedures, including appendicectomy, laparoscopic adhesiolysis, and abdominal wall and groin hernia repair (open and laparoscopic), with particular expertise in complex abdominal wall reconstruction using mesh and component separation.
He is accredited in colonoscopy and flexible sigmoidoscopy, offering high‑quality diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy.
