About

Mr Peter Craig was appointed as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals in 2020. He runs a busy clinical practice focussing specifically on the treatment of adult hip and knee joint arthritis. In addition to routine joint replacement, he has a particular interest in complex knee replacement surgery such as custom-made implants and revision (Re-do) knee replacement surgery. In addition to these duties, he is actively involved in training the next generation of Orthopaedic Surgeons both from the UK and abroad. Away from the hospital he enjoys spending time with his young family and the great outdoors.

Mr Craig grew up on the south coast and attended Eastbourne College. He qualified as a doctor in 2008 from The University of Nottingham and then undertook foundation years training in the East Midlands. He completed core surgical training in Birmingham and Staffordshire. He undertook Higher Surgical Training in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery on the prestigious Oswestry Orthopaedic Training Programme.

In 2016 Mr Craig completed a Master of Science degree from The University College London. He was awarded The Oswestry Professors Medal for his thesis evaluating patient-reported outcomes following knee replacement surgery. He was admitted as a Fellow of The Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2017.

In 2018, after successfully completing his training, Mr Craig embarked on two years of Fellowship training in Primary and Revision (Redo) Hip and Knee replacement surgery; firstly, at The University Hospitals of Coventry and Warwickshire and secondly at The Holland Orthopaedic and Arthritic Centre in Toronto, Canada.

Personal interests

I live in rural Warwickshire and enjoy the outdoors with friends and family. I played rugby to a high standard and now coach junior rugby.
