Mr Peter Cooke

Mr Peter Cooke is a very respected urological surgeon and cancer specialist at the Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust. He also serves as the Clinical Lead for Urology within the Black Country and West Birmingham Integrated Care System. His extensive medical leadership experience includes roles such as Urology Department Clinical Director, Chair of the Trust Senior Medical Staff Committee, Chair of the West Midlands Cancer Alliance Urology Expert Advisory Group, Chair of the Specialist Multidisciplinary Team, and membership of the Trust Cancer Board.

Widely recognised as the leading robotic urological surgeon in the Midlands, Mr Cooke has personally performed around 2,000 complex robotic procedures. His annual robotic radical prostatectomy caseload typically exceeds 100 cases, placing him among the most experienced surgeons in the UK. He was ranked among the top 20 prostate cancer surgeons nationally in the Daily Mail Good Doctor Guide (2018). NHS data from 2021 placed his complication rates within the best 5% in the country, and in 2022 his team achieved the shortest hospital stay in the UK for both prostatectomy and cystectomy (bladder removal).
