About

Mr Peter Asaad is a consultant general and colorectal surgeon with extensive experience in both elective and emergency surgery.

In his private practice at Nuffield Health, he treats common general surgical conditions including gallbladder disease, hernias, and coloproctology (such as haemorrhoids, fissures and fistula). He also performs colonoscopy for the investigation and management of bowel symptoms.

He runs dedicated diagnostic clinics for patients with abdominal pain, rectal bleeding, anal pain, change in bowel habit, or other unexplained bowel concerns. He understands that these symptoms can be worrying and focuses on careful assessment, clear explanation, and developing a structured plan to reach a diagnosis and guide treatment.

Alongside his private work, Mr Asaad is an NHS Consultant at Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals, where he undertakes complex colorectal surgery, including major cancer resections and emergency abdominal surgery. This broader practice supports his clinical judgement and experience in managing complex cases safely.

He also holds senior leadership and educational roles within the NHS, reflecting his commitment to high standards of care, quality improvement, and training the next generation of surgeons.
