About
Mr Tzerakis started his neurosurgical training in 2000 in Greece. After completing his training in Athens in 2004 he was appointed as a Specialist Registrar in Neurosurgery in Newcastle upon Tyne. During his training he gained experience in all Neurosurgical subspecialties including Spinal Surgery, Oncology, Neurovascular surgery and Functional Neurosurgery. For the Last 11 years working as a Consultant, he had the opportunity to increase his surgical practice and also train specialist trainees in various Neurosurgical operations. His current post is Consultant Neurosurgeon in the University Hospitals of North Staffordshire.

Mr Tzerakis has a
strong academic interest particularly for neuroprotection, hydrocephalus and
spinal surgery including publications on the Medline, participation is numerous
studies and clinical trials, workshops, congresses and other courses. He also
has teaching experience with regular lectures and presentations to Medical
students, trainees and peers. He has been recently appointed as an honorary
lecturer at the Keele University
