About
Mr Islam graduated from Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital, London in 1996. He trained and worked at Moorfields Eye Hospital 1999-2007. He was appointed Consultant in Medical Retina and Cataract, and Education Supervisor in 2007 and Diabetic Retinal Clinical Lead in 2007-13. He has set up macular degeneration and improved retinal services in Essex/North-east greater London.
In 2016, he was appointed Clinical Lead for Quality and Safety at Moorfields. He is also Committee Member for Quality & Safety at Royal college of Ophthalmologists, UK and Homerton Diabetic Eye Screening Slit Lamp Assessor Quality Lead.
