About

Mr Bell is a fellowship-trained specialist knee surgeon.

He is currently a consultant in the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he performs unicompartmental and total knee replacements for the treatment of osteoarthritis as well as knee arthroscopic (keyhole surgery) and ligament reconstruction procedures for the treatment of knee sports injuries.

Education

Mr Bell completed his orthopaedic surgical training in the West of Scotland before undertaking his fellowship training.

He also undertook knee fellowships in Melbourne, Australia, with Professor Julian Feller and Harrogate with Professor Nick London. In addition, he also completed the Edinburgh trauma fellowship.

Mr Bell has authored several peer review publications in leading orthopaedic journals, including randomised controlled trials involving unicompartmental knee replacements and systematic reviews of knee cartilage treatments and ligament reconstruction surgery. He has authored a book chapter on the treatment of cartilage injuries of the knee.
