Mr Stuart Bell

MB Chb, MRCP, FRCS (trauma and orthopaedics)


Mr Bell is a fellowship trained specialist knee surgeon.

He completed his Orthopaedic training in the West of Scotland Deanery before undertaking his fellowship training. He undertook knee fellowships in Melbourne, Australia, with Professor Julian Feller and Harrogate with Professor Nick London. In addition he also completed the Edinburgh trauma fellowship.

He is currently a consultant in the Royal Alexandra Hospital where he performs unicompartmental and total knee replacements for the treatment of osteoarthritis as well as knee arthroscopic (key-hole surgery) and ligament reconstruction procedures for the treatment of knee sports injuries.

Mr Bell has authored several peer review publications in leading orthopaedic journals, including randomised controlled trials involving unicompartmental knee replacements and systematic reviews of knee cartilage treatments and ligament reconstruction surgery. He has authored a book chapter on the treatment of cartilage injuries of the knee.
