About

Mr Shastri is a Consultant in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust and the prestigious Queen Victoria Hospital in East Grinstead, specialising in complex oral surgery, the management of jaw disproportion (Orthognathic surgery), jaw joint (TMJ) pathology, head and neck trauma, benign salivary gland pathology and skin surgery. Alongside a Consultant colleague, he is one of few surgeons within the region who provide gender affirmation surgery, consulting on and delivering a breadth of facial feminisation procedures.

After graduating in Dentistry from the University of Manchester, he went on to complete several posts in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in central London teaching hospitals. He graduated in Medicine with distinction in Clinical Sciences from Barts & The London School of Medicine & Dentistry, before undertaking academic foundation training in London, followed by higher surgical training in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in Guildford and East Grinstead.

Throughout his training, he has published and presented research works both nationally and internationally and has been awarded several academic prizes. He is thoroughly invested in training junior doctors and has been appointed as an examiner for the MFDSRCS (Eng) examination.
