About
Mr Bitar qualified in 2004 and completed all his postgraduate training in trauma and orthopaedics in the UK. He became a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2016. He then undertook two UK-based fellowships to further refine his skills within his specialist interest in trauma and arthroplasty surgery.
Mr Bitar has had an established NHS practice in Wolverhampton since 2018, offering treatment for a wide range of problems affecting the lower limbs. In his practice, he deals with complex lower limb trauma, joint replacement surgery, and revision when needed. In 2022, Mr Bitar and his team achieved the fantastic milestone of becoming one of the first in the region to offer same-day hip replacement surgery for patients who prefer to recover in the comfort of their own home.
As part of his continuously evolving practice, and thanks to the unique training opportunities he had under one of the most renowned surgeons in Wolverhampton, Mr Bitar is able to offer hip resurfacing arthroplasty as a treatment option for young and active patients. This procedure is currently only offered in a limited number of centres across the UK.
Mr Bitar has a passion for teaching and training and is a recognised trainer by the General Medical Council, as well as holding an honorary senior lecturer position at the University of Birmingham Medical School.
