About
John is a Consultant Hip and Knee Surgeon at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, where he leads a high-volume specialist practice focused on primary and revision hip and knee surgery, arthroscopic knee procedures, and lower limb trauma. His patient-centred approach ensures that each individual receives tailored, evidence-based care suited to their specific needs.
John is experienced in both computer-navigated and robotic-assisted surgery, and offers the direct anterior approach to hip replacement—a muscle-sparing technique associated with reduced scar tissue, quicker recovery, and less post-operative pain.
He holds an honours degree in Medical Sciences from Magdalen College, Oxford, and completed his clinical training at University College London. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, having undertaken higher surgical training on the prestigious Nottingham rotation.
John has completed internationally recognised fellowships in Complex Joint Reconstruction at the University of British Columbia (Vancouver), Hip and Knee Surgery at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre (Oxford), and Major Trauma at King’s College Hospital (London). He has also undertaken travelling fellowships at world-renowned institutions, including the Mayo Clinic (Rochester) and Rush University Medical Centre (Chicago).
