About
Mr Jawad Ahmad is Consultant General, Laparoscopic and HPB (Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary) Surgeon at University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust. He specialises in the surgery of liver, pancreas, gallbladder, bile duct and hernias. He has special interest in laparoscopic (key-hole) surgery. He holds full GMC registration (6081906) with License to Practice and is included in the Specialist Register.
Mr Ahmad completed most of his specialist surgical training in Northern Ireland. He gained further specialist experience by way of organised fellowships at internationally reputable teaching hospitals and visited specialist HPB units around the world. This consolidated his interest in liver, pancreas, gallbladder, bile duct and hernia surgery.
Mr Ahmad is committed towards research and regards it an essential component of surgical training. He has completed lab-based research and has published widely in scientific journals of repute. He has won academic and competitive fellowship awards and remains active in research and audit circles. He maintains a keen interest in teaching and is Clinical Lecturer (hon) at Warwick Medical School, University of Warwick.
