About
Mr Rao was the Chair of the Top Orthopaedic Examination both Nationally and Internationally. He helps run the Singapore, Hong Kong and African Examinations. He has been given the honour of being the Elected the President of the Chester and North Wales Medical Society. Mr Rao is an Honorary Lecturer for the universities of Edinburgh, Chester and Liverpool
Mr Rao began his medical training at the University of St Andrews, graduating with Honours in Bachelor of Science, before completing his surgical education at the University of Manchester (Victoria University).
He undertook specialist Orthopaedic Surgery training on the Cambridge Programme at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, gaining further experience at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital. His international training includes a prestigious Orthopaedic Fellowship in Colorado, USA, followed by a global Travelling Fellowship with placements in Australia and China, where he expanded his expertise in advanced joint preservation and reconstruction techniques.

Mr Rao specialises in the diagnosis and surgical management of hip and knee conditions, including arthritis, sports injuries, cartilage damage, ligament injuries, and complex joint problems. His practice includes both primary and revision joint replacement surgery, as well as minimally invasive and arthroscopic procedures.
