Mr James Wong

Mr James Wong (MBBS, BSc, MRCS, FRCS Trauma & Orthopaedics) is an accomplished Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in hip and knee surgery, including joint replacement, revision surgery and minimally invasive knee arthroscopy. He brings more than two decades of specialist experience to his practice and is widely recognised for his expertise in modern hip and knee reconstruction techniques.

Mr Wong completed his medical degree at King’s College School of Medicine and Dentistry in 2000, followed by Orthopaedic and Trauma surgical training on the prestigious Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital rotation, one of the UK’s leading centres for orthopaedic excellence. He achieved FRCS (Trauma & Orthopaedics) in 2010.

He subsequently undertook advanced fellowship training in hip and knee surgery in Melbourne at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and Epworth Hospital, as well as further specialist training at the Joint Reconstruction Unit at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore. These fellowships provided extensive experience in complex joint reconstruction, revision hip surgery and contemporary arthroplasty techniques.

Clinical Practice

Mr Wong’s practice focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of hip and knee conditions, including:

• Primary hip replacement

• Revision hip replacement

• Total knee replacement

• Knee arthroscopy (keyhole surgery)

He is known for his meticulous surgical technique, evidence‑based decision‑making and clear, patient‑centred communication. His approach emphasises restoring mobility, reducing pain and helping patients return to active, independent living.

NHS and Private Practice

Mr Wong serves as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Queen’s Hospital, Romford, and King George Hospital, Ilford, where he is also the Clinical Lead for Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery.

Privately, he consults at Nuffield Health Brentwood Hospital and The Holly Private Hospital, providing specialist hip and knee care for patients across Essex and East London.
