Mr James Wokes

Mr James Wokes is a consultant plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgeon. He strives to provide exemplary patient care and natural, yet transformative looking results for his patients.

Working in plastic and aesthetic surgery for more than 15 years, he has a surgical logbook of over 11,000 operations. Between his NHS and private practices, over 4,000 patients have operations under his care annually.

Education

Having graduated from medical school with distinction, he completed plastic surgery training and was awarded the prestigious McGregor Gold Medal for outstanding performance in his FRCS consultant examination.

Mr Wokes has undertaken specialist, and highly sought-after, fellowships in cancer surgery and cosmetic surgery, both in the UK and internationally. He's completed the acclaimed British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons Fellowship and the RCS Cosmetic Surgery Certification.

Teaching and research

Mr Wokes is Clinical Lead and Educational Lead for the Plastic Surgery department in his NHS Trust. He is a member of the North East Regional Surgical Training Committee and is Course Director of the International North East Flap Course.

He is also a lecturer at Newcastle University and has a considerable number of published papers and book chapters in the evidence-based medical literature. He is a for reviewer for JPRAS and ASJ.
