About

Mr Ehab Kelada was appointed as a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust (BSUH) in 2010. 

He has extensive experience in Obstetrics and Gynaecology having completed his training at various busy hospitals in Portsmouth, Leicester and the North Western Deanery.

He is the consultant in charge of providing the service of Subfertility at BSUH. He is also the lead consultant for the Ambulatory Gynaecology Service which is the service provided for the investigation and treatment of menstrual disorders. 

His main interest is in Subfertility and Assisted Conception. He has over 20 years of extensive experience in the field of reproductive medicine having worked previously as the Clinical Director of the London Fertility Centre on Harley Street and as a Consultant at CARE Fertility in Nottingham.

His special interests include the management of women who have PCO (Polycystic Ovaries), recurrent miscarriage and recurrent implantation failure following IVF treatment. 

He was a member of the team at CARE that pioneered and established a treatment program for women with recurrent implantation failure and recurrent miscarriage secondary to immune factors. He carried out egg collection and embryo transfer for the world’s first woman to achieve live birth following array Comparative Genomic Hybridisation (CGH); a technique used to screen collected eggs for chromosomal abnormalities with the aim of transferring chromosomally normal embryos. 

Mr Kelada has unequivocal expertise in hysteroscopic surgery for submucous fibroids and endometrial polyps. Hysteroscopy and Laparoscopy procedures are commonly performed during the course of investigations and treatment of subfertility as well as menstrual disorders, endometriosis, ovarian cysts, polycystic ovaries, chronic pelvic pain and pain during intercourse.

He is a member of the team at the Agora Gynaecology & Fertility Centre which has been achieving one of the best pregnancy rates following treatment using assisted conception techniques.

Research

He has many publications in national and international journals and conferences. He was one of the pioneer team setting up a service for Reproductive Immunology for women who have recurrent miscarriage and recurrent implantation failure following fertility treatment. 

Mr Kelada was also one of the pioneer team achieving the worlds first live birth following array CGH (Comparative Genomic Hybridisation) which is a technique to screen eggs for chromosomal abnormalities.
