About

Mr Bhachu is a Consultant Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgeon and Joint Clinical Lead for the Hip Fracture Service at UHNM.

He qualified from King’s College London School of Medicine in 2010, then began his surgical training at the Royal Marsden Hospital and within the Kent, Surrey & Sussex Deanery.

Mr Bhachu then went on to complete his specialist training in the West Midlands Deanery’s prestigious Stoke/Oswestry Rotation, achieving his CCT in 2023

He completed the JRI Furlong Hip Arthroplasty and Revision Surgery Fellowship at University Hospitals Sussex under Mr Nirav Shah, followed by a 12-month fellowship in Revision Arthroplasty and Periprosthetic Fracture Surgery at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre, Oxford, a high-volume tertiary referral centre. He trained under leading specialists, including Mr Simon Newman, Mr Ben Kendrick, Mr Antony Palmer and Mr Adrian Taylor.

His specialist interests include primary hip and knee replacement, complex revision hip surgery, fragility trauma and periprosthetic fracture surgery.

Mr Bhachu believes in providing personalised, evidence-based care, ensuring patients understand their diagnosis and treatment options. He takes a collaborative approach to decision-making, with the aim of achieving safe, effective outcomes while supporting patients throughout their recovery.
