About
Mr Ali is an experienced Consultant Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon specialising in foot and ankle surgery, providing expert assessment and advanced surgical management for a wide range of conditions. He has been a Consultant at the University Hospitals of North Midlands since 2015 and is widely recognised for his expertise in both elective foot and ankle procedures and acute trauma care.
Mr Ali completed his medical degree at University College London Medical School (2002) before undertaking surgical training at The Ipswich Hospital. He completed his higher orthopaedic and trauma training on the prestigious Oswestry/Stoke Training Programme, followed by dedicated fellowship posts in Foot and Ankle Surgery at the Northern General Hospital and Leeds Teaching Hospitals, two of the UK’s leading specialist centres.
Alongside his clinical work, Mr Ali plays an active role in medical education. He is a Royal College of Surgeons (England) Surgical Tutor, an FRCS (T&O) Examiner, and is involved in quality assurance for the Royal College of Surgeons. He is committed to training the next generation of orthopaedic surgeons.
Mr Ali provides comprehensive diagnosis and treatment for the full spectrum of foot and ankle conditions, including:
- Complex hindfoot and forefoot deformities
- Sports injuries (including ligament tears, tendon disorders, and fractures)
- Arthritis of the foot and ankle
- Soft tissue conditions, such as Achilles tendon problems and plantar fasciitis
- Traumatic injuries, including ankle fractures and midfoot trauma
- Diabetic foot disorders and complications
He combines evidence‑based practice with modern techniques to help patients reduce pain, restore function, and return to activity safely.
