About

Mr Hinsche is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in shoulder and elbow surgery, as well as general upper limb surgery and trauma.

His particular expertise lies in advanced arthroscopic (keyhole) and minimally invasive techniques for conditions affecting the shoulder and elbow. He also performs shoulder replacement surgery.

Mr Hinsche graduated from medical school in Cologne, Germany. He completed his general surgical training in the West of Scotland, followed by specialist training in orthopaedic and trauma surgery in Yorkshire.

After successfully completing his exit examinations, he undertook a further year of advanced fellowship training in the Shoulder and Elbow Unit in Sheffield. He was subsequently appointed Consultant Shoulder and Elbow Surgeon at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Gateshead.

He was awarded the prestigious European Travel Fellowship by the British Elbow and Shoulder Society, which enabled him to gain additional specialist experience with internationally renowned shoulder and elbow surgeons across Europe. These included placements in Zurich (Professor Gerber), Nice (Professor Boileau), Lyon (Dr Walch), Stockholm (Dr Ekelund), Munich (Professor Imhoff), Heidelberg (Professor Habermeyer), and Oxford (Professor Carr).

Mr Hinsche remains actively involved in continuing professional development and regularly attends national and international meetings to exchange knowledge with leading experts in his field. He is also a regular participant in the annual 'Teach the Teachers' Advanced Elbow Skills Course at the Mayo Clinic, USA.
