Mr Amit Patel is a highly experienced Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in hip and knee surgery, with a strong focus on joint replacement, knee reconstruction, and advanced orthopaedic techniques. He treats patients with conditions such as hip arthritis, knee arthritis, sports injuries, ligament damage, and cartilage disorders, offering both surgical and non‑surgical treatment options.Mr Patel is known for his clear communication, evidence‑based approach, and commitment to personalised patient care. He works closely with each patient to develop an individualised treatment plan aimed at reducing pain, restoring mobility, and improving long‑term joint function.
Education & Training
Mr Patel graduated from Southampton Medical School in 2003
and completed his foundation and internship training at Southampton General
Hospital. He subsequently entered a structured surgical training programme at
Southampton Teaching Hospital, gaining broad experience in trauma and
orthopaedic surgery.
In 2006, he was awarded Membership of the Royal College of
Surgeons (MRCS) and successfully completed his core surgical training in 2007.
He then undertook Higher Surgical Training on the prestigious Stoke/Oswestry
Orthopaedic Training Programme, widely recognised for excellence in complex hip
and knee surgery.
Mr Patel became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS Orth) in 2013, reflecting the highest level of surgical training and expertise. He further enhanced his specialist skills by completing an advanced Fellowship at the Exeter Knee Reconstruction Unit, a nationally renowned centre for knee replacement and reconstruction surgery.
Following his fellowship, Mr Patel was appointed as a Consultant in Trauma and Orthopaedics at The Royal Stoke University Hospital, where he manages complex elective and trauma cases involving the hip and knee.
