About

Mr Al-Sabti specialises in shoulder surgery and general orthopaedic surgery. He developed a special interest in arthroscopic surgery at an early stage in his career, with a particular interest in new procedures such as arthroscopic anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction following sports injuries. He sees patients over 18 years.

A result of the involvement in sports injuries, Mr Al-Sabti became interested in shoulder surgery in athletes, subsequently expanding into the area of shoulder surgery, particularly in arthroscopic shoulder surgery which became a special interest.

At this time, this was a fairly new procedure and over the past few years, arthroscopic shoulder surgery has enjoyed an explosion of interest from orthopaedic surgeons. Mr Al-Sabti was fortunate to be at a stage in his career when he could develop this further.

Arthroscopic surgery has a clear advantage over open procedures – the field of vision is magnified by about 20 times and thus more detail is available. Also, a number of conditions are best diagnosed and treated arthroscopically.

This area continues to be Mr Al-Sabti’s main interest, he ensures that he is fully up to date with the most recent developments in this field, attending various international courses in America and Europe.
