About
Mr Alex Hrycaiczuk is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising exclusively in foot and ankle surgery. He has a strong interest in modern, minimally invasive techniques aimed at improving outcomes, reducing post-operative pain, and enabling faster rehabilitation.
Originally from Yorkshire, Mr Hrycaiczuk graduated in medicine from the University of Oxford and Imperial College London in 2011. He completed his early postgraduate training in Oxford and Bristol before undertaking higher orthopaedic training on the West of Scotland Training Programme. He was awarded FRCS (Orth) by the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
Following completion of specialist training, he pursued extensive subspecialist fellowship training in foot and ankle surgery in both the UK and Australia. This included advanced training in Edinburgh, followed by a British Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society Travelling Fellowship to Melbourne, where he trained at the Melbourne Orthopaedic Group. He subsequently completed a lower limb trauma fellowship at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. This has provided him with broad experience in complex foot and ankle pathology, reconstruction, trauma, and contemporary surgical techniques.
Mr Hrycaiczuk is a full-time NHS Consultant at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, and also practises privately. He treats the full spectrum of foot and ankle conditions, prioritising non-surgical and joint-preserving treatments where appropriate, and offering tailored, patient-centred care through shared decision-making.
