Miss Rebecca Morrell

Miss Rebecca Morrell is a fellowship‑trained Orthopaedic Hand and Wrist Surgeon. She has extensive experience treating both new (acute) and long‑standing (chronic) problems affecting the hand and wrist. She studied Medicine at Newcastle University, where she developed a strong connection to the North East. She has chosen to settle in the region and enjoys the mix of coastal living, countryside, and city life.

She completed her higher surgical training in the North East and was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2020. She then undertook a nationally appointed Orthoplastic Hand and Wrist Fellowship at Newcastle Hospitals. After this, she completed a further fellowship in Fremantle, Australia, where she expanded her trauma skills and helped coordinate a busy tertiary referral service for complex hand and wrist injuries.

Since 2023, Miss Morrell has been a Consultant at Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. She is a member of the British Society for Surgery of the Hand (BSSH) and is the Clinical Lead for Hand and Wrist. She works closely with the Hand Therapy (Physiotherapy) team to ensure patients receive high‑quality rehabilitation before and after surgery.

Miss Morrell enjoys treating a wide range of conditions. She takes time to understand each patient, their lifestyle, and what they need from their hands, and she tailors her care to suit those individual needs.
