About
Dr Marta Vilaro qualified at the University of Barcelona (2010). She completed 4 years of subspecialty training, including a fellowship in Oculoplastics at the IMO Clinic, Barcelona (2011), specialising in plastic surgery techniques as they relate to the eye and its surrounding structures.
This was followed by extensive training in the UK with an Oculoplastics, Orbital and Lacrimal fellowship at the prestigious Moorfields Eye Hospital (2012 and 2014) and a fellowship at the multidisciplinary craniofacial unit at Chelsea & Westminster Hospital (2014), where she gained expertise to manage complex skin cancer reconstruction, thyroid eye disease and periocular trauma. She was part of the Adnexal unit at Moorfields Eye Hospital from 2014 to 2016.
Her NHS practice is based at BHR Hospitals NHS Trust (Queens Hospital), where she heads the division of oculoplastic surgery, offering a comprehensive eyelid and lacrimal service for children and adults. She is a keen educator and runs regular surgical cadaver dissection courses, wet labs and simulation.
