About
Miss Marina Fernando is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at Nuffield Health Brentwood Hospital, with specialist expertise in acute gynaecology, early pregnancy care, outpatient hysteroscopy, menstrual disorders, menopause, gynaecology ultrasound and postmenopausal problems.
Miss Fernando qualified from Barts and The London School of Medicine in 2005 and completed specialist training in North East and Central London before becoming a consultant at Homerton University Hospital.
Miss Fernando is the Clinical Lead for her department and Lead for Early Pregnancy and Acute Gynaecology, at Broomfield Hospital Chelmsford, focusing on safe, effective and patient-centred women’s healthcare. She also has a strong background in quality improvement and is the Clinical Improvement Lead for UCLpartners where she supports many national improvement programmes around women’s health.
Miss Fernando offers a personalised approach to care and has particular interests in early pregnancy and Gynaecology scanning, outpatient gynaecological procedures, contraception, hysteroscopy and postmenopausal health. She is actively involved in teaching, mentoring and presenting service improvement work nationally and internationally, and is committed to improving women’s health through clinical excellence, innovation and compassionate care.
