About

Miss Kelly Weston specialises in all aspects of paediatric ophthalmology and examines and treats children from newborns. She is an experienced squint surgeon and, in addition to paediatric squint, has expertise in the surgical management of complex adult squint.

Kelly graduated in Medicine with distinction and honours from the University of Southampton in 2005. She then undertook Ophthalmology training in the Wessex Ophthalmology rotation, which included a period of specialist training in Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus at Southampton General Hospital, followed by a Fellowship in Paediatric Ophthalmology at the world-renowned Great Ormond Street Hospital.

She was awarded her Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) by the GMC in 2017. Kelly is on the GMC's specialist register for Ophthalmology and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists.

Kelly is engaged in the education and training of ophthalmology trainees in the Kent, Surrey and Sussex (KSS) Deanery. She sits on the board of examiners for the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and is a member of the Examinations sub-committee for the Part 2 FRCOphth examinations.

She has published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at National and International meetings, including BIPOSA (British Isles Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus Association) and ESCRS (European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons).

Personal interests

Kelly is married with two children who keep her busy away from work!  She enjoys keeping fit and walking the family dog.
