About

Dr Tracey Toms is a Consultant Rheumatologist dedicated to helping patients regain mobility and manage chronic joint pain. After qualifying with honours from Leicester University in 2001, she completed specialist training in the West Midlands and earned a PhD for her research into cardiovascular health within rheumatology. She has served as a Consultant at Warwick Hospital since 2015.

Dr Toms provides expert diagnosis and personalised treatment plans for a comprehensive range of bone, joint, and muscular conditions. She specialises in:

  • Inflammatory Arthritis: Expert management of Rheumatoid Arthritis and Psoriatic Arthritis to reduce swelling and prevent long-term joint damage.
  • Connective Tissue & Autoimmune Disorders: Specialised care for complex conditions including Lupus (SLE) and Sjögren’s syndrome.
  • Soft Tissue & Repetitive Strain Injuries: Effective treatment for common painful conditions such as bursitis, tendonitis, tennis elbow, and carpal tunnel syndrome.
  • Pain Relief & Precision Procedures: Dr Toms routinely performs joint aspiration (fluid removal) and therapeutic joint injections (steroid/cortisone) to provide rapid relief from inflammation.

Beyond her clinical practice, Dr Toms is a passionate educator. She regularly teaches medical students, serves as an MRCP examiner, and represents South Warwickshire on the regional training committee. Her extensive research background ensures her patients benefit from the latest evidence-based advancements in rheumatological care.
