About
Dr Nair is an Endocrinologist in Chester with broad experience in all aspects of Diabetes, endocrinology and weight management. He is the clinical service lead for the department of diabetes & endocrinology at the Countess of Chester Hospital.
He completed his specialist training in Diabetes and Endocrinology at Mersey Deanery and also achieved a PhD in Endocrinology from the University of Liverpool. He worked as a clinical lecturer at Aintree University Hospital before being appointed as consultant in Medicine, Endocrinology and diabetes in Chester.
He is passionate about working with patients towards remission of type2 diabetes and obesity by dietary and lifestyle measures, supported by therapeutic interventions. He has significant experience in weight management and dealing with complex hormone related issues. His expertise is in individualized treatment for Endocrine problems such as difficult disorders of the thyroid, pituitary, adrenals, PCOS, male sexual dysfunction, and Diabetes.
He keeps up-to-date with all aspects of Endocrinology and Diabetes. He has considerable experience in managing patients with intractable symptomatology such as tiredness, weight gain and excessive sweating.

Dr Nair is the Diabetes NIHR Research lead for north west coast region and is responsible for supervision and encouragement for Principal Investigators in the region. He is Chief investigator for multisite clinical trials and is Principal Investigator for several multinational research studies.
His research interests are Diabetic kidney disease, Diabetic foot disease, Obesity, novel treatments in Type 1 diabetes, diagnostic dilemmas in diabetes.
He has many peer reviewed publications in reputed medical journals and has presented numerous scientific abstracts in national and international medical conferences.
