About
Dr Ramakrishnan has been practicing as a Consultant Physician and Gastroenterologist since 2007 and has a specialist interest in all aspects of endoscopy, gastroenterology, and liver and pancreatic disease.
He has a keen interest in service development, teaching, training and research. He prides himself in being very open with patients and is keen to promote a patient-centred approach to managing their illness.
After his basic qualifications, he has completed more than 20 years of practice in the field of gastroenterology and general medicine covering all aspects of these specialties.
Dr Ramakrishnan has performed over 9,000 diagnostic and therapeutic procedures that include gastroscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy and ERCP with excellent success rates and high patient satisfaction scores.
He introduced the Small Bowel Capsule Endoscopy service at Spire Cheshire Hospital in October 2015.
As the joint lead for the management of alcohol-related liver disease for the AQuA programme, he has streamlined guidelines for evidence-based management of this condition.

I am happily married to a paediatrician and we enjoy our spare time looking after our garden, interacting with my three children and travelling as much as possible. I also enjoy many sports, particularly cricket.
