About
Dr Shefali Rajpopat is a Consultant Dermatologist at Barts Health NHS Trust in London. She consults on all aspects of skin disease including mole checks, acne, rosacea, psoriasis and eczema.
Shefali graduated from Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ Medical School in 1999 with Honours. She trained in dermatology at Barts Health, The Royal Free Hospital and St John’s Institute of Dermatology. In 2010 she was appointed Honorary Consultant in Dermatology and Clinical Senior Lecturer at Queen Mary University London.
Special interests
Shefali has an interest in acne and skin cancer and is the skin cancer lead at her hospital. She sees urgent skin cancer referrals, offers mole excisions and works within a multidisciplinary team.

Research
Shefali is actively involved in research and medical education and has presented at numerous national and international meetings. She received a grant from the British Skin Foundation and was awarded an MD (Res) for research into harlequin ichthyosis and genetic skin disease.
Shefali has also been awarded the Postgraduate Diploma in Medical Education. She is an undergraduate and postgraduate teacher and trainer and is Course Director for the International Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Dermatology at QMUL and has a number of peer-reviewed publications.
