About

Dr Sharon Lim is an experienced Consultant Paediatrician who provides comprehensive care for children from infancy through adolescence at Nuffield Health Brentwood Hospital. She specialises in paediatric endocrinology and general paediatrics, offering expert assessment and management of conditions affecting growth, hormones, development and general child health.

Dr Lim has particular expertise in growth disorders, including concerns about short stature, delayed or early puberty, thyroid disease, obesity, and other hormone‑related conditions. Her specialist training in paediatric endocrinology enables her to diagnose and manage complex disorders of the endocrine system with precision and clarity.

Alongside her endocrine work, she provides general paediatric consultations for a wide range of childhood conditions such as recurrent infections, feeding and nutritional concerns, abdominal pain, headaches, developmental issues, and behavioural or school‑related difficulties. Families value her calm, thorough approach and her ability to explain clinical findings in clear, reassuring language.

Dr Lim graduated from the University of Leicester and completed her specialist paediatric training at several of the UK’s leading centres, including Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, Hammersmith Hospital, Great Ormond Street Hospital, and St Bartholomew’s Hospital. She has been a Consultant Paediatrician at Broomfield Hospital, Chelmsford, since 1999, where she leads the paediatric endocrine and diabetes service.

Her academic interests include bone metabolism and growth, and she has contributed to research in these areas. She is an active member of the British Society of Paediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes (BSPED) and a Fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH), reflecting her commitment to maintaining the highest standards of paediatric practice.
