About
Dr Shailini Bahl is a Consultant Paediatrician with specialist expertise in paediatric diabetes and endocrinology. She studied Medicine at the University of Nottingham Medical School before completing paediatric training at hospitals in Brighton, Chichester, Chertsey and London. She subsequently undertook specialist training in Paediatric Diabetes and Endocrinology at St George's Hospital and Great Ormond Street Hospital.
Dr Bahl was appointed Consultant Paediatrician at Ashford and St Peter's Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in 2004, where she serves as Clinical Lead for Paediatrics and Lead for Paediatric Diabetes and Endocrinology. Alongside her clinical practice, she is actively involved in the education and training of future healthcare professionals as an Educational and Clinical Supervisor for medical students and trainee doctors.
She has extensive experience in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of paediatric conditions, with a particular interest in childhood diabetes and endocrine disorders. Her specialist areas include the management of type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetes, growth disorders, puberty disorders, adrenal conditions, thyroid disorders and calcium metabolism disorders.
Dr Bahl
is committed to delivering personalised, patient centred care and works closely
with children, young people and their families to develop effective treatment
plans that support long term health and wellbeing. She has also played an
active role in advancing paediatric diabetes services, including serving as a
founding committee member of the Association of Childhood Diabetes Clinicians
and co-chair of the South East Coast Network for Paediatric Diabetes.
