About
Shailini Bahl studied Medicine at the University of Nottingham Medical School.
After training in Paediatrics at Brighton, Chichester, Chertsey and Kings College Hospitals, she specialised in Diabetes and Endocrinology at St Georges and Great Ormond Street Hospitals.
She was appointed as Consultant Paediatrician at Ashford and St Peters Hospitals NHS Trust in 2004 where she is the Clinical Lead for Paediatrics and Lead for Paediatric Diabetes and Endocrinology.
As well as her clinical and managerial roles, she is an Educational and Clinical Supervisor for medical students and trainee doctors.
She was a founding committee member of the Association of Childhood Diabetes Clinicians and a member of the British Society of Paediatric Diabetes and Endocrinology. She is also co-chair of the South East Coast Network for Paediatric Diabetes.
She has clinical expertise in a wide range of General Paediatric conditions and a special interest in all types of Childhood Diabetes as well as Endocrine disorders. These include disorders of growth, puberty, adrenal, calcium and the thyroid.
