About
Dr Sachin Gupta is an experienced Consultant Gastroenterologist with a specialist interest in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders affecting the digestive system, including conditions of the oesophagus, stomach, small bowel and colon. He provides expert assessment and management for patients with symptoms such as acid reflux, abdominal pain, altered bowel habits, anaemia, inflammatory bowel disease, and gastrointestinal cancers.
Dr Gupta graduated in medicine in 1999 before moving to the UK in 2000. He completed his specialist gastroenterology training in London, including advanced endoscopy and research at the internationally renowned St Mark's Hospital, a recognised centre of excellence in endoscopy. During this time, he undertook research into advanced polypectomy techniques and was awarded an MD by Imperial College London for his work in the assessment of endoscopic polypectomy skills.
Widely respected for his expertise in colonoscopy and the non-surgical removal of bowel polyps, Dr Gupta has helped advance endoscopic training and assessment nationally. His research contributed to the development of the DOPyS assessment tool, which is now incorporated into UK endoscopy training and the national Bowel Cancer Screening Programme.
Dr Gupta is a member of the Royal College of Physicians and the British Society of Gastroenterology. He has authored more than 25 publications relating to colonoscopy, polypectomy and endoscopy training and remains actively involved in teaching and training healthcare professionals.
