Dr Marcus Auth (MD, PD, FRCPCH) is a Consultant Paediatrician specialising in Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition, and is an Honorary Lecturer at the University of Liverpool since 2008.

Dr Auth is a renowned national and European expert, actively involved in several working groups. He has published more than 70 publications in prestigious journals and given several hundred presentations, including on national audits and guidelines. He is a senior lead gastroenterology consultant with huge expertise in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, selection and interpretation of appropriate modern investigations for children, and involves other specialists as needed in complex situations.

Dr Auth’s recent interests and publications show how the outcome of children with inflammatory bowel disease can be improved, how to set up and interpret gastro-oesophageal reflux investigations, and how food related disorders of the oesophagus and gastro-intestinal tract affect the quality of life in children and their families; how to screen for, detect and treat children with bowel polyps, inflammatory bowel disease, and food related eosinophilic disorders.
